banana cookies

I just made banana cookies! The first batch is in the oven. I tried some delicious dough, and the cookies will be done soon. I'll keep this open and I'll write after I try them. Meanwhile, I found a grape cookie recipe. GRAPE cookies. Not raisins. Never heard of them, but I was thinking yesterday and googled today. So here they are. ta-da! Grape cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 lb. chopped dates
  • 1 lb. chopped black walnuts
  • 1 lb. red grapes, each grape sliced in half

Instructions

In a mixer, combine butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Add baking soda in water, vanilla, cinnamon and beat. Add flour a little at a time. If it gets too stiff for the mixer, remove and continue by hand with a wooden spoon. Add dates, walnuts, and grapes--mix with wooden spoon. Drop teaspoonsful on to a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned.

later- WOW!!!! The cookies are SUPER good!!!! If you want more of a cookie thing, I suggest putting 1 cup flour instead of 2. Otherwise, they'll be more like bread.
